Well, after many Miniless years, I've taken the plunge and bought the1100 Special formerly owned by Oultonlad who I am sure some of you will know. Even to my fairly non technical eye, he has clearly done a great job with the car and I'm really looking forward to picking the car up this coming Saturday.

Advice, pointers and experience all very welcome, thanks

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. It's very reassuring to know there's so much collective help and support out there.
I can't believe that, at 46 I'm looking forward to picking this car up as much as I am.

My plan is to live with it for a while and enjoy it and get used to it and then I'd like to get the best possible paint job done in time for next spring, so any ideas on people and places to get it painted would be good. It would need to be really good though as I want to do justice to all of the other work which Oltonlad has done on it. I'm Stafford area. Thanks
