Turn ignition on but engine will not turn. All I get is like a fast clicking noise which appears to be coming from starter motor. Any ideas?

Sounds like the battery is on it's last legs. Try jump starting it and see if you have any success

Managed to bump start it this morning and took it down to my local garage. Battery good and all connections sound. Starter motor shafted, new one fitted.
