Hi all.

I have noticed recently that the manifold gasket holes do not line up perfectly with the inlet exhaust holes on the cylinder head.

There is in some areas a few of mm or so, where the gasket impedes the flow. It's not much, but I wonder if this will have much effect on

atomisation on the way in or on exhaust on the way out.

Is this common? Is it worth removing these over laps. The head is a stage 4 and therefore has been ported, it seems a shame to have any of that extra flow lost to a gasket. Is this a common thing that needs to be sorted.

Just my opinion but, I would have thought it would make a difference if the manifolds line up well with the head but the gasket doesn't. Have a look at some of the usual mini parts suppliers. I'm sure I bought one advertised as for a large bore setup.

The swiftune large bore gasket is the best I've found, like you I found that a cheaper gasket from another Mini supplier wasnt quite big enough for the large ports, or of the same quality.
