Ok, he has only changed his dampers and nothing else at the rear. Now the car sits about an inch higher. I'm saying something is not fitted correctly. It's not possible for a Mini to sit an inch higher just because you've changed the dampers/shocks and have not changed the trumpets or cones.

If something has moved away you would have noticed then, cones will fall if they 'release' from the trumpets, and if the knuckels came out the seats, you werent able to put the suspension together again.
About replacing cones and fitting hilos, if you give them a good whack everything will come out, had this happen a lot of times.
You need hilos to fix ride height difference, rear suspension parts, either cones or gas dampers, wont settle in a short time.
I had spax and some decent cones at the back in the car i use for road rallying, wheel to arch gap was 4 fingers then. I've swapped for a set of KYB i've already used on another mini (so neither brand new) and some fresh cones. This was 14 months ago, and on standard trumpets, gap went straight to 7 fingers. I was expecting it to settle, but it didnt happen. Now is a wide 6 fingers gap so a very few mms of settleing in 14 months. I'm going to fit hilos at the back to drop it a little as i dont like how it handles with the extra ride height, but thats a different matter.
