Kyb Gas A Just Sitting High

I've heard that this is a characteristic of these shocks but that seems odd and the fronts are ok.
Does anyone know if this is normal for this shock and if anything can be done about it?

The shocks do nothing to the height of the car. Check if the trumpets are into the cones correctly. Sometimes when you put the car back on its wheels they sit on the edge of the cones.

The fronts are only about 5k miles old an are the same shock.
The rears went on with a subby change. The "new" subby is pre loved and came fully built up. The bloke who fitted it was due to fit hi los and new cones but couldn't as he said the trumpets had seized onto something or other and something would seize if removed. He said that these shocks sit high but I'm struggling to understand why.

Wrong misconpetion is this that dampers dont affect ride height.
Its exactly like saying all chocolate has milk in it...

As long as the front are KYB gas adjust, they'll be fine. Dont mix them with other type dampers, it can be potentially dangerous, no problem if you're running KYB on all 4 corners.

Cheers, they're all gas adjust and new. The car does look odd. The front has hi Los and sits quite low which exaggerates the look at the back. I'll raise the front to get a bit of balance - presumably that's all I can do?

It might make a few mm difference, but as stated in the second reply to your first link it's not going to be a lot. OP states "really high". I would therefore check if the trumpets and cones are fitted correctly.

We're talking, and I'm guessing, perhaps an inch higher. Maybe a tad less but it isn't mm's.

Check your hilos setting, but they affect the rear more than a few mms

The hi los are on the front and set lo.
The rears don't have them but sits high!

You need hilos at the back, at guess you'll have from 5 up to 7 fingers gap between wheel and arch at the back, with fresh cones and fresh KYB dampers it will sit at a 4x4 ride height.

It doesn't have fresh cones....

Not if it used to be an inch lower.
