hi guys, i recently bought a morris mini and i love it. the only frustrating part is if i want to take passengers they have to climb over my driver side.

the passenger door seems to be seized shut. the handle on the outside doesn't work and on the inside when i try opening it the bar attached to the handle just bends outwards.

any help at all on opening or even removing it in anyway would be great!

What does the locking mechanism do when you slide it back and forth?

Try getting someone to push on the door from outside while you try to release it from the inside. Assuming it is unlocked of course.

How old is the car, as you say it is a Morris?

You'll need to pull the interior panel off then.  Then you may need to pull back some tape over one of the access holes to get at the mechanism.  It's been a while since I've replaced/fixed this area....can be tight and fidly, but I'l sure you'll find the issue when exposed and be able to get that door open and latch sorted.

When you've striped off the plastic there'll be an inspection hole approx 4 x 6 inches at the top left of the door.

If you look inside you'll see the lock assembly and inside of the handle.

There SHOULD be a small bent piece of rod with a 'joggle' on the end. This should be clipped onto the lock mechanism on the door handle. Sounds like it's just come unclipped and so the door is locked permanently. Reattach it, should do the trick.... I fitted my locks the other day, so I had to do this......

Hope that helps

The exterior button pushes directly on the latch, if you can push the button in, and it's not releasing, it's a problem with the latch. it could be it's already unlatched, but the hinges have dropped badly.
