G'day all,

So I'm a pomme living in WA, Australia. Found this site through a google search on something else I was working on at the time and been hooked since.

Anyway, had a few minis in my time....race ministox at Ringwood Raceway back in the 90's, and in Juniors/Prod A at SAA. Had a few minis on the road too (850 with a kent cam that went like a rocket), 2 clubmans, built my sister a mini when she passed her test, help rebuild he mini 30, had a mayfair, helped look after my mates '66 1340cc, build roll cages for lots of other mini owners and races.....done a fair bit in my time!

Moved to Oz a few years back, and started to get that strange itch (no, not a redback bite!) again.....needed a mini in my life. Found an old '62 Morris 850 that needs a huge amount of work and life "begins" again! The wife, not content with me having a mini decided to go buy herself one too....a 1972 Clubman. So far I've put on front spot lights and a black chequered roof. She loves it!

With the '62....not sure where I'm going with it yet. It needs a huge amount of work, no rust as such because it's been dry-stored for 30+ years, but the engine is not original and almost everything is missing or in need of major repairs - floor pans have been jacked up on, front panel damaged, rear valence damaged, roof rippled etc. so will start to strip it and see where the mood takes me. I'll start a thread in "projects" when I get something worth while to post about ;0)

Well, that's a little about me and how I landed here......hope to fit in, help out if I can and grab advice from others if I get stuck.

Sounds like a worthy project. What is it like sourcing parts in Oz? I noticed there was another member doing a resto from Australia too.

Looking forward to you starting a project log sounds like you know your stuff. My dad used to sign write mini stocks back in the day I'll will have a look through some old photo's a post them up if I find them.

Thanks peeps - not sure what parts sourcing is like yet.....Might be getting bulk orders from Minispares/Minisport etc lol!

Project officially started today....will be a LONG one as I'm in no rush but will hopefully keep a bit of a project blog on how things are this side of the equator!

I'd love to see some old pictures - I raced at Matchams Park, Ringwood during the early '90s.

Ahhhh......so many memories  :proud:
