Nowhere near! Some people think low mileage and original make them worth a fortune. The truth is there are a lot out there. Mine is a two owner car (one previous and me) Y reg that has done 14000 miles. It needed two a panels, a rear quarter repair and a couple of other jobs. I paid £700 for it two years ago.

There aren't a lot of Minis like that in Scotland, and the prices are different up here.  If you want a good solid cheap Mini, head a long way into England like I did for mine - there are far more solid cars down there.

Its photographed outside McDonald Minis, who did work on it.  You should call them to ask whats been done, and about the condition.

aye, the guys at macdonald minis are very knowledgeable and will help you out - i sent one to them for a good service and look over before i picked it up and the guy had laid out all the bits he'd replaced! just to talk me through it, I was in there for about two hours chatting and missed my ferry home!
you could also ask over on scottishmini if anyone knows it - to be honest I don't think there is an 80's mini out there that i'd be paying 6k for...

The ones on the net that are low miliage are up for a lot and have been for sale for years. Too high a price.

A totally rust free mini in Scotland is worth a lot more than £1.5k, whatever the mileage.

It would easily cost that much to find and restore another car to the same condition to replace it. Would it ever sell for that much? I very much doubt it!
