Yes, I believe you can.
I had my first mini from 18, got my second one when 21. My second policy built up a second set of no-claims bonus. Some others should also be able to verify this. :)

u cant use the same no claims on two policies so two separate no claims should be fine

Yes you can legitimately build up two lots of no claims discount, on two separate policies in the same name. That said, having two standard policies in order to actually be entitled to two lots of NCD, tends to be an expensive way to go about insuring two cars though. It tends to be a lot cheaper to either get a multi car policy, or a "mirror policy", where the insurer automatically gives you the equivalent no claims discount on a second policy to what you already have on your existing policy.

No you can't add the separate policies together.

Tell me about it! I'm 19 so you can imagine the price of having two cars on the road! I did try to get a multi car policy but no one would touch either me because of my age ot the mini because if its age being a 79 it for some reason becomes much more difficult and expensive to insure! Non of the so called specialists could come up with any kind of competetive quotes. Hard to belive a 79 998 mini is more to insure than a 03 1.9tdi golf!

So does that then count as 2 years if you go to 1 policy
I wouldn't have thought so I meant that each car would have its own year no claims.

Hi Rob
Yes you will earn separate NCB's.

I'm not sure that's correct
I had ~9 years on my Focus & 1 year on my Fiesta. The Focus was my main car previously but when I wanted to insure the Focus-toy with Need2Insure they advised me to put all of the NCB on the Fiesta (new main car) as they could mirror the NCB. Admiral swapped my NCBs round and added the year for the Fiesta.
I now have
Fiesta policy - LVE - 12yr NCB
Focus policy - N2I - mirrored to the Fiesta with 1yr NCB
Mini policy - N2I - mirrored to the Fiesta - new policy

Let's put it this way. Money aside, could a 17 year old insure 10 cars then when he's 18 have 10 years no claims?
Nope.

Well no but you're taking the wee wee
nevertheless they did it for me; thinking about it I didn't even want them to do that, I just wanted them to swap them around

Even if you could it wouldnt be beneficial because of how much it would cost for the 10 policies at 17...Let's put it this way. Money aside, could a 17 year old insure 10 cars then when he's 18 have 10 years no claims?
Nope.
