Getting the itch for a change so considering selling my MGB GT.
It is completely solid underneath and in great condition. The top is less good, a not brilliant respray has started to lift. It is solid metal underneath but patches would need doing here and there. The only patch of rust is by the passenger side headlight which would need a bit of work. The engine is strong with good oil pressure, gearbox is smooth with working overdrive, new alternator, battery and rad. Electronic ignition and stainless exhaust. Motalita steering wheel. 5 good tyres, rear two are nearly new Avon ZT5s. I have a thick folder of documents including every MOT from new. Mileage is 84000 ish. I have a load of spares that would be included. MOT until June next year, 11months tax which can be left on if the price is right.

It would be a great daily (as it has been for me for the last four years) of a perfect starting point for a rolling project as there would be very little bodywork to do. I am looking for £1200 Ono which I think is a fair price. I am also interested in a swap for something sporty or weird and wacky. Think MX5, alfas etc, not interested in small cars or family runabouts.

We're selling our B GT too :(

The price sounds very fair, all the best if you decide to let it go

Thanks, I am not greatly fussed either way at the moment. It is still running great and causes me no problems so it's not a problem if it doesn't sell. I am just getting that urge to drive something different, not sure what but leaning towards a Mk1 MX5 or possibly an Alfa GT but finding a decent one is hard.

Doh! 78 rubber bumper in Brooklands green (commonly, and wrongly, called British racing green). Working overdrive on third and fourth.

No sunroof (thank god) and the seats have aftermarket covers which aren't deckchair material. I will get some pics tomorrow when I get a chance. Blaupunkt tape stereo, naffy speakers, fitted mats. Tunnel carpet is a bit ratty.

Has been serviced religiously since I have had it. Oil and filter change every 4 months irrespective of miles covered. I also have 8 or 9 new oil filters I will include as I bough a job lot of 25 just after buying it. Its a solid motor but looks a bit scruffy. Could be driven away and would do thousands of miles without hassle I am sure. Think big mini with loads of space under the bonnet and you can guess how easy they are to maintain.

Only advisory on last mot was for surface rust on a rear chassis rail. That was dealt with the same day. The sills have been filled with Dynax S50 which is brilliant stuff.
