Hi All,

Have just dropped my newly reground crankshaft onto a new set of mains shells, torqued down the centre main cap and the crank turns very easily with the thrust washers fitted ('Vandervell'Std size and new have checked the thickness and come in at 0.092") and all seems well. Only issue is I have zero end float I used a DTI to check the gap.

So is it permissible to place the thrust washers on a piece of emery or similar to remove a little material from the faces that sit against the bearing cap and block to bring the end float within tolerance? At the moment I can't see an alternative.

Any help very much appreciated

Cheers

Stuart
