Hi

I'm replacing the felt bush tomorrow, had a search but all I could find was most people replacing the felt with nylon. Look at Haynes Manual but was a but sort on info.

Any advice or even better a picture of how this should be sorted would be great. Also I not a lot of people saying to soak the felt in petrol but I would think that would cause it to degrade??

Thanks in advance.

Karl

Not a lot to say really, except don't put any petrol on it!  Soak it in clean engine oil for a few hours, then wrap it around the shaft with the shaft slightly withdrawn and slide the whole lot back into place.  I haven't done one for many years but I don't remember any specific difficulties.  Apart from getting oil everywhere.

Looks a little like a quote from Mr Grey..

It's really easy to do having done this job earlier this year on my clubby. As Dan says just be careful when you put the internal shaft into the coloumn. It's easy for it to push out.
