What Is This, And Why Is It Squirting Water

hi, maybe a stupid question but I can't work out what this is for the life of me

(it's the snazzy silver thing in the middle)

whenever I give it some throttle it squirts water..
(I can do a video if it's needed)

That's a heater valve, it should have a pipe connected to it, going to your heater matrix.

As stated its the heater control valve, it should also have a heater cable hooked up to it.

That's a heater valve, it should have a pipe connected to it, going to your heater matrix.


ohh.. makes sense.. blocking it up won't do any harm will it? (heaters in storage at the moment)

If you pull the lever backwards it should turn off, like a tap.

It'll be fine, ive got mine blocked off right now with no issues

Or you could remove the whole unit and fit a blanking plate.

You have to wonder what's going on at the other end, it would return from the heater via a branch on the bottom hose.

 

It also looks like that breather filter is missing its top, not that it matters greatly.

As Ethel said, if the heater is out, look for the OTHER heater hose and and make sure both are capped off, not just the connection to the valve on the head.
