Will be starting my conversion soon enough. just some question's :D

do you HAVE to cut the firewall for the intake? or can you just cut the manifold and put piping there OR does it depend where i get the subframe from?

and whats easier? using a honda wiring loom and slicing what i dont need for the whole front end and using the ecu or just wiring the engine loom up to the existing bit and using the ecu?

starting to take the engine out tomorrow :)

well its coming out tomorrow should i say hehe

Grey area you can do both, cut the inlet and use silicone elbows/ or weld them at the angle to clear bulk head, or cut the bulk head but here is the grey area bout it all being legal and iva testing and all that jazz....

Wiring looking at lot of bulds people been using honda wiring and taking out what they dont need but i may be corrected.

good luck with taking the engine out! =)

Can you tackle the wiring side of things?

If so and you have a full loom then start at the ECU and remove everything not connected to it as its not needed, the rest of it from that point I don't know but do know that  :whistling:

Just remember to keep the wiring for the rear fuel pump, I'm sure thats the only thing you need from the 'rear' of the loom

with my swap, I have the Honda harness to run just the engine side,

and then I have the chassis harness to run the lights and whatever else

but I am running mini dash switches and ign switch and steering wheel controls

in the rear you need the fuel pump wiring, to connect to the relay that's controlled by the ecm

and the fuel gauge level wiring to the cluster or gauges your gonna run

im running a fuel cell with a inline pump and im also running an aftermarket dash gauge set up

and then my chassis harness is still ran for the rear lights

and front lights and dome light

so do you think this would be ok.

the original rear loom attached to the front honda loom at the front of the car and use everything honda? if i did this how would the steering lock work using the barrel of a honda?

thanks for the input

if your gonna use everything Honda, just use the Honda steering column as well, and make an adapter(u-joint) to connect the mini rack to Honda column

or adapt the Honda loom to run off of the mini ign switch

oh and im running Itb's, the manifold for them is cut and bent upward and re-welded, no cutting to my firewall what so ever
