My passenger side door has a slight drop to it making the closing off the door not nice. If from outside the car I lift and close it's ok . From inside if you pull to hard the door handle will come off as you need to pull quite hard. Is the door at all adjustable ? Thankyou

only thing i can think of is to put some shims in between the door hinge and the door post.

You can stick some shims in like above or adjust the catch by loosening the 2 screws and lowering it.

Is there any rust on the apost?

I've just had the exact same problem, but with the driver's door. Mini failed its MOT because of it, the hinges inside the a-panel were completely gone, cost quite a bit to get sorted.... Basically, someone had used filler on the hinges instead of actually welding parts together. Guy working on it said the whole door could have come off when driving. May be worth getting it looked at, I'm afraid.

Another thing to look at is the door skin welds on the front edge of the door coming loose, or if the skin has been replaced in the past, it might not have been welded properly which is what has happened to mine - the whole front edge moves when I lift the door up, rather than the hinge itself which is solid.

There was loads of play in my hinges, I put new pins in, but it hasn't really helped!

I'm going to have to replace the hinges

I would look at the hinges first, it may just be wear and tear on the hinge pin. Be careful with pattern hinges they can be slightly too thick.
Adding new shims will help but if the hinges are worn then it will only get worse.

Everything else is down to rust on the A post and flitch area. Is the door rusty at the front??

its sorted . i put 1mm washers on both the bolts on the lower hinge. its now perfect. my mini has no rust at all and the doors are solid. definitely a hinge problem. lets see how long it lasts . thank for your answers .
