last night i was fitting a new carb to my 1098 clubman, and on the old one a tiny black tube used to be situated near the maifold, this tube then led down on to the side of the dizzy.
I dont know what this little tube does, and cant fit it on my carb.
SO do i need to get a new carb or will the engine run fine with out it.??????

any info would be greatfully recieved.

cheers lee

Thats the vacumn advance tube. You can have your engine tuned to run without it, and considering you'll need to have your car Rolling Roaded now anyway, I would say take this route.

But you will need to get the advance curve of the dizzy modified to suit!

What carb have you fitted ?? Very surprised its not got a vacuum advance takeoff !
