Hi everyone,

I've got standard 12 inch steel wheels on my 1980 Austin Mini, Im just wondering if anybody has, or knows if you can get those hubcaps you see on most of the older 10 inch wheels. I'd love to have 10s put on but cant really afford all the changing of the brakes etc.. so im sticking with what i have already.

Is it possible to strip these back and paint (im thinking old english white) and source some of those chrome hubs or are they a different size? Any advice, or if anyones done something similar would be great to hear from you.

Thanks

(heres a before picture of my wheels, have cleaned up the spare now and it looks great.)

Wow they look really nice mate, definitely gonna get mine cleaned up and painted! Did you do yours yourself or get them done professionally?

And thanks man, yeah that would be great

Cool, definitely gonna have a go with my spare and see how it turns out. Did you sand it by hand or use a wire brush? Also just noticed your Mk 2 lights, nice touch. Wanting to do them myself too.

Still have to decide between diamond white and OEW for my steelies.

No hubcaps for me though.

Thanks I used a sand blaster for the worst then used a wire brush then sandpaper to smooth them I put some rust proofer down as mine were quite bad, yeah cost me £12 for the light I love them
I found OEW and ford diamond white are really similar colours with OEW being slightly darker
