The subframe fell off on the outside lane of a dual carriageway. On Christmas Day.

Mine was a VX 4/90 FC101 Victor MPC 200D. 3 speed column change autobox and it came with a LSD as standard. Very bloody slow though.

Mine was a Secma Qpod, wish i hadn't sold it in a sense but with the money i sold it for i got my first mini and was drawn onto TMF so a good move in all despite the sad bit of loosing my Qpod :( , used to pop a right wheel up in the air around roundabouts, the most fun you can have on the road safely i'm sure!

B-reg Beige (Austin called it "Champagne") Metro 1.0E.  Brown interior. 3 gears and E (for economy I guess). Absolute rusty POS, lasted a year before we had to scrap it.

Put me off Metros for life (that and helping to weld up a mates Rover 100).......and there seems to be a strong following for Metros??

Standard 10 followedby a beautifull Almond Green all steel Countryman estate. Considerably more reliable, although I was gratefull to the Standard for teaching me all about car mechanics

1971 VW Beetle 1300 'Marathon' limited edition.

Spent 2 years restoring it, only to get it vandalised. Gave the engine/ 'box to a mate for his sand rail when I realised that I couldn't bear to do it all again.

Two wheels upfront and one powered wheel at the back on this model, and there two little stabalizer wheels which are solid mounted on a bar together the pivots on a bolt in the centre on the chassis (bugger to get out!) with rubber buffers which look much like a mini's top arm bump stop actualy, to absorb the load.

They do/did a four wheeled one with 340cc which i always wanted for an engine conversion to something more........fun :whistling:

Mine was a 1999 nissan micra which I deeply regret selling whenever something goes wrong on the mini. All it ever cost me was MOT/TAX/fuel in the two years I owned it, such a great little car he was :(.
