I have a 96 Spi with a verto clutch. Over time the clutch engagement is now taking up at the bottom of the pedal travel, so much so that soon I shall be running out of pedal. What should I look out for on this, I do not have any fluid leaks. I have spare new clutch master and slave cylinders ready to be fitted if necessary?

Most likely the master cylinder seals are failing and allowing fluid to go back into the reservoir instead of actuating the clutch, and also letting air in. It may respond to bleeding, at least briefly, but as it will only get worse you should fit the new master and slave cylinders, which will then be good for a long time. I would recommend also changing the flexible hose, so you don't have to refill and bleed it again fairly soon if that fails, as they do after a while.

OK Tiger, I have the parts so I might as well fit them, plus the hose as you suggested as its hard to get at all this with all the gubbins in the way.
