Hi, I've just taken the engine out of the mini for it to head off to morspeed for a bit of work, after taking the front wheels off I realised that the front right has been rubbing, i'm running 165/12's they seem to be catching at 2 places inside the arch and hence have worn through the paint and primer etc. can I just fit spacers? will I need to get some longer studs as well? is there any chance they will then just touch the arches?

yes you can fit spacer. yes you will need longer studs or you risk the nut going on enought then off comes the wheel later on. don't know about the arches tho.

also rubbing in 2 places were. if its at the front and back the theres somthing up with the turing. if its the top could be chamber. or just needing spacers.

Well another solution is to alter (raise) the ride height with Hi-Lo's or Mini-Sport Adjusta-Rides etc? Plus check the tie-bars aren't bent, especially the one on the side of the car with the rubbing problem. If it is bent, then replace it, preferably with a heavy duty type which will be harder and less prone to bending/kinking.

cheers, i'll check the tie bar.

its rubbing at the back about mid height of the tyre on the wall through to the engine, and then again at the bottom of the well, both kind off a similar point and the same part of the tyre.
