hi all, was changing the discs and pads on my 1988 austin mini today, one side done fine, no major problems but on the other side one of the two bolts behind the caliper that hold the caliper on has rounded when i was trying to remove it. (also one of the wheel studs sheared again but i'm replacing the flanges anyway just because it's easier than separating them from the discs.)

I don't have a welder so if anyone in the manchester city centre area (fallowfield) does and has some replacement bolts or preferably some less aggressive way of removing the bolts i'm happy to pay.

Needs to be done asap ie today/tonight or tomorrow morning as i'm really busy from 3pmish tomorrow and all next week and need to drive from uni to work and back because buses take an hour.

so yeah if anyone can help get the caliper off by welding another bit on to undo it or using a different size socket that i don't have i would be eternally grateful and reimburse you +extra :) ideally someone with a torque wrench for refitting stuff properly

stuff i have:

replacement disc with flange, pads, split pins, retaining clip, dot4 minispares brake fluid + bleeding kit

halfords advanced 170pc toolkit + jack

breaker bar with socket for the castle nut

various pliers

anyone up for it? if so i'll message you my address on here or ring/text and you can come round now! thanks in advance =]

edit: having said that it's started raining now (obviously - manchester) and i don't have a garage... so you'd also get wet. might have to be tomorrow morning as early as possible

Have you tried beating a smaller socket onto the head of the bolt?
