Bought this Mini Italian Job (a red one) in Feb I think, from a friend whos landlady went mental when she saw it on the front lawn - she was about to take it to the scrappy herself - and it was far to good for that, it had to be rescued.
I'd planned to have it on the road by now as my daily driver but as always these things take a little longer than expected (you'd think I'd know better after having a hand in building several minis lol).
Had a week off work and my mate Dan spared me a week of his holiday from uni. We used this time for an intense program of panel replacement , boot floor, rear valence, inner sill repairs, outer sills (narrow like they are supposed to be), both A panels, full scuttle, front panel and passenger wing.
At the end of this week all the panels were fitted and I must say Dan and I are proud of our handywork. Its very satisfying work - especially when its in a compressed time frame.
Since the week off I have been sourcing all the parts and cleaning and painting the underside, refitting the rear subframe with new Hi Los, shocks and brakes etc.
The last two weekends have been spent priming and flatting the car ready for its respray tomorrow!! This is what it looked like yesterday.

Please excuse the picture - its off my phone. I'll make sure I charge my camera if future.
Its back on its wheels now with brand new wheel bearings and ball joints both sides ready to be trailered to work for the painting. Can't wait to see it nice and shiney back in its original red (this time with a black roof). On sunday I'll start building back up - must try and get some photos as I go along - really gutted I have no photos of it from when I got it up untill now.
First jobs fitting the front Hi Los, new shocks, brakes and wheels. Then a good service - fit all the body fitting lights etc - then the dreaded MOT (although I'm not really dreading it this time - everything is new!!)
