I've got a set of Twin HS2's in my garage that were destined for life on my Estate but now I'm thinking that as I've got an MG engine for it they might be a a bit small? So I waas thinking of putting them on my 998 with stage 1...

Just wondering what extra pipes/connections/cables/needles I'd need to do his HS4 to twin HS2 conversion? I'd get it RR'd afterwards anyway but could i expect more power? or just smoother running etc?

You got a piccy of the twins? Mine had everything necessary with them.

There was a copper fuel pipe that split into two and then had a braided hose going into each carb, so the normal fuel supply line just fitted to that. The throttle and choke cable both fitted direct onto the linkage.

Do the carbs have a manifold and linkages with them? If so it should be fairly straightforward.

As for performance increase, it's the same old thing really. If you have a decent exhaust/head/cam/ignition etc, the twins will help the engine breath better. If you fit them to a standard 998 with an unmodded head and standard camshaft, you won't get the full benefit. But they are a nice bit of underbonnet bling!

Have you considered looking into HIF38's? I believe they are good on a 998, but I have never used one myself.

Cheers MMM, I've got this pic

There are linkages (not shown) but I'm not sure if it's complete, only got one cable grub screw.

I've seen twin setups with a short hose connecting the carbs directly, do i need that?

Anyone got any pics of properly setup twin HS2's?

Thanks

the hose joining the 2 is a breather hose

its joined to blank off the take off on the carb when K&N type breather filters are used
