I'm jealous. Surf blue mk1's are my favourite. Where did you get it if you don't mind me asking?

Looks a great project. Enjoy

i got it from a guy in glossop. he's a real mini enthusiast. the car has no rust but whilst it is naked I'm going to rustproof the bit that usually can't be reached. I have been advised to use diotrol. Any suggestions????

Wow, easy project :) Just like my mini will be when I have it painted. Was the guy you bought it off in Charlseworth by any chance? I think I spent 10 years driving past this car under wraps.

The car lived in the north east then the guy I bought it off bought it for a track car but realised it was too good for that (hence it was stepped down). I bought it to put back together. The reg is UBR 65. If you what to see how it looked there are som pics on google images

Engine came out a treat and was cleaned up and repainted and put back in. I have most of the wiring sorted but an auto electrician is finishing that next week. I'm very lucky to live near Nick at Min-e-bitz so I have manage to get any original parts from him. the car is coming on a treat and Im hoping to take it to Beaulieu and a few more show next year.

The car left me complete, the last time I saw it was heading for the Tyne Tunnel doing about 45mph. After 4 years and over 10,000 miles of going to shows I decided it was time to sell, the novelty of driving an 850 Mini had finally worn off and the car was too good to do any serious modifications to. I still have my Traveller and Sprite, so I've not gone off Minis (yet).
