:'( my car seems to have developed a strange problem
it was fine, but its just developed a problem, when accelerating through the gears it pulls fine through first and second but then in third and to a much greater extent fourth, it seems to get all bogged down, it backfires and splutters and then stalls as soon as you slow down.
it was only rolling roaded in feb, since which its probably only done about 1000 miles. i have checked all the plugs and they seem fine, slightly black but not too bad. i dont know wether it could be an electrical problem or wether its to do with fuelling.
what do you reckon it could be? is it time for a trip to the rolling road?
cheers
DAN

Spec of the car would be useful.

I'm also getting this exact same problem, except I'm hearing a loud 'blowing'/'drawing' sound when I accelerate. Seems to be going weak under load, not sure if you have the exact same problem as me though. You can hear it quite badly with mine though as it's using the standard housing, and therefore not covered up by a loud cone filter or something,

Sounds like the same problem as mine though.

just thought i'de update on this incase anyone else gets a similar problem.
after replacing the coil, ignition module, plugs and going mad checking all the fuel lines for kinks and checking the pump and filter. the problem turned out to be a fault in the rev limiter i was using.
i simply unplugged it and went out for a careful spin and the problem has vanished!
so if anyone has a similar issue, and is running out of ideas, check the rev limiter (assuming you have one!!)
cheers
DAN ;D
