hi guys i took the engine out of my mini today and tried to take the two fluid reservoirs out and noticed they were connected to the clutch and brake pedal... i tried for ages to get the split pins out but they are in such an awkward place that i couldnt do it.

 

is there an easy way of doing it thanks

put a small screew drive in the loop and twist it out useing the case as a lever

Take the seat out gives a bit more space, still not a nice job though

Not the split pin but a tool like this one is very handy for removing the clevis pin.cut out the middle of a thickish peice of metal and file it to a point, tap it in between the pedal and pin and when it's mostly out you should be able to pull it out with pliers.

The split pin can drive you crazy!! Take the seat out and prop up a torch shining on the place. I use a pair of very long nosed pliers both to grab the split pin and the clevis pin. A small R clip is a better replacement for the split pin.

the seats are out but like a doughnut i undone all the pipes before hand so i also got covered in fluid when i pushed the pedal in.... at least im not the only one who has struggled with this
