Me again...

The previous owners fitted a 1275 MG Metro engine into my Mini, which should be running a 65DM4 42681A electronic distributor.

But the distributor that is in is presumably the original 998 one, a Lucas 59D using contract breaker points.

How far out will the advance curve be? Is it worth swapping to the correct one or should I just leave it?

I may be wrong but I thought 59d was mg metro and 65d the later carb coopers/rsp's.

If in doubt I'd call h&h ignitions. They'll recurve your dizzy to your exact engine spec for about £35.
