Found this on ebay just now, looks pretty funky!

The seller says the mods are to improve emissions, fairly modified head.

The seller is a very clever man, very experienced in the mini field, if you contacted him im sure he would explain further.

I'm guessing the 3 holes in combustion chamber 3 is so that the fuel and air can be ignited, it doesn't seem like it would be very efficient, but it would be interesting to try

Very strange, a few years ago I turned down an a series aluminium head because it looked like a normal 998 head rather than a 12g295 casting, wish I had bought it as never seen another since.

I'm wondering if it's a GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) type of arrangement -

on the one cylinder (without the injection just normal carb)

a compression Ignition but with petrol instead of diesel (hence no spark plug)

wondering if the holes open up into a combustion chamber of some sort ? with glow wire - or transfer tube ?

would love to see what piston crown shape they were using

a bit of a museum piece - not a bolt on & run

You can see the spark plug holes in the 6th picture in the listing. They're a little shrouded by the combustion chamber walls but they're there.
