Been hunting for a mate about this and can't find any decent information.
Met a guy through local free ads he is building a 1.6 16v x16xe engine.

Really nice guy.. Know a few folks who have done this and (to be honest) it has planted a seed....

Can anyone share some information on what they had to do for the injection system to link into the original mini wiring loom.

Mate of mine has a complete car but he is out the country...

Anyone? Help appreciated..

If you buy a haynes manual for the donor car it should have the wiring diagram for the engine bay look including the pin out for the ecu.

A mini's haynes manual has the one for it.

I am using the cut down loom from my donor astra bertone coupe. My mate Chris has gone through it and identified everything like the lights, power steering, air conditioning, horn, etc that I won't be needing and has either labelled them up ready for me or has already removed it for me.

What this leaves me with is a wiring loom that should just include the injection set up for the engine.

Starter motors are pretty standard for all cars. They require power, ground and a supply to the solenoid to get them to kick over. The mini has these already so its just a mater of connecting the right one to the right terminal. Make sure your wiring is up to the job though as more modern starter motors may draw more amps.

I've yet to figure out my alternator and the tachometer with mine.

The rest of the loom takes power off the battery feed to the starter motor.

If you use the standard ECU you will most likely need to get it re flashed to remove the immobiliser as the ECU will be looking for the Vauxhall key which won't be there and so will cut the fuel pump. Depending on the age of the mini you may or may not have the wiring in the mini loom for the fuel pump so that will need to be added. One is just a ground wire and the other is to the fuel pump relay.

Have a look on EFI extra the people who do the mega squirt ECU's. They have some generic engine wiring diagrams that may be of use.
