Exhaust Hits Rear Subframe.

I have a 94 cooper spi with a standard exhaust system. The middle silencer is always hitting the rear subframe when driving, it's very loud and annoying inside the car! Anyone know any reasons for this? Could the rubbers be holding it up too high or maybe the bracket has been bent up.
Maybe this is a common issue I'm not sure!

Slacken all the bolts on all the brackets and clamps that hold the exhaust in place on except the one where it joins the manifold. You will probably find that he exhaust moves into a more natural positions. The tighten up everything making sure that nothing moves when you do.
I've had to do this on a few cars I have owned not just mini's and it always seams to sort itself out.
Check you engine mounts, sub frame (front and rear) and the engine steady mounts. It may not be the exhaust that is moving but the sub frame moving to hit it or the engine is moving pushing the exhaust around.

hi get it up on axle stands and get under the exhaust and rock it side to side up and down and then that will tell you where its hitting or where its close then you can ever get a bigger rubber to push it away or bend the hanger out to move it more i had this problem and it was hitting of the seat belt bolts that go threw so grinded the ends of them.

ok cheers guys, looking at it I think it may have been mullered by a speed bump at some point, so think I may try bending the mounting points down a bit.
