So i've just picked up a 2000 plate honda accord 1.8 vtec, as far as im aware the engine in it is a F18B... I plan to fit this in my mini and was just wondering what my options are regarding conversion parts? i wanted to go with the AllSpeedEngineering kit but the subframe is labelled for use with the b16 and the b18 engine? Would it still fit, if not, how screwed am i?

the subframe in question: http://www.allspeede...-b16-b18-detail

the engine in question: http://puu.sh/5bkn4.jpg

Having a quick look round, looks like no-one makes a F-series frame, I'm guessing this means i will need to have a frame made or make one myself? Hopefully there isn't a reason that no-one makes a F-series frame and it's just a case of not alot of people use the F-series as a donor engine :P

Oh god okay... Is it possible to use a mini subframe and modify it?? or will the engine/gearbox not fit in it... i was just thinking it would be easier as that way i know it'll fit to the car/front end just fine :P

So does anyone know if this engine would fit? i can't find any minis that has had the f-series conversion and there is no off the shelf subframe, is this engine difficult to fit into a mini? Should i sell the accord and look for a b-series instead? Help would be appreciated

I would measure the engine you have and compare it to a B series and take it from there

That sounds like a good start, does anyone have the dimensions of the actual block of the b-series engine? Can't find it online, will measure the F-series later on
