Was curious if this forum did anything of the sort? Or if any mod is willing to take it on??

(If there is, my bad, obviously didn't look hard enough in the threads).

I only ask because my dad is a member of the XKEC and they do a picture competition every year for a calendar. I thought everyone loves to take pictures of their minis and it would be a fun thing to do.

I understand that it is quite a responsibility to take on and there are thousands of people on this forum. But would be interesting to see who would be interested in doing such a thing.

Cheers

There has been, mudd001 did one a couple of years back, opening a thread each month to post your picture and then a thread for to choose your favourite photo.

There's nothing to stop anyone from starting a photo competition topic.

From previous ones it's a good idea to specify a standard image size. No comments, or quoting makes it easier to follow: you can nominate your favourite with the like button and the most popular can then be put into another topic for voting. If a photo includes someone else's car it'd be fair not to show the registration, and also not to feature anyone's home location.

You could even use this topic into November's submissions, let's say 640 X 480 images to be submitted with the originals to be available at 3 megapixels for printing.

If it goes well we can run other submission threads for the other months to get enough for a 2013 calendar, in electronic format.
