I am thinkin of puttin a flipfront on a MiniVan and as you all know they have external hinges. I was just wondering if there was any strengthening needed for the a panel as I'm worried about all that weight on the A panel when it's only attached on one side...I'm worried it'll become flimsey and/or have some kind of movement in it.

Anyone know anything about this?

most "good" flips that i've seen, even on newer hinged cars, run a brace from the A-panel to the flitch panel, triangulating the area.

The A panels on externally hinged cars are quite strong, but if you are going to use the A panels to fix the flip front in place then it would definitely be a good idea to put some reinforcing bars in the inner arch area.

Awesome, cheers guys. I thought it'd be too risky not to add strengthening, but I thought I'd ask where it matters first
