So my engine is all stripped now, and I didn't think to number the cam followers so I knew where they went.

This means I now have four (the other four fell somewhere and I can't find them) random followers that I guess I can't use now.

My only other option is to buy some new followers but I've heard this isn't good if you're reusing an old (35000 mile) cam. It is an MG Metro cam so it isn't an option to buy a new one as I don't have endless funds.

Any thoughts on this? What would you do?

I did do a search to no avail.

The cam lobe surfaces will be work hardened, so the new cam followers will be most likely the side to wear, but I would not worry about it. Can't see what else you could do.

Dont forget to use some engine lube and remember that the new followers need to bed-in to the camshaft. Run it for about 20 minutes between 2000 and 3000 rpm and dont let it tickover for its first 30 minutes of life.

Okay, thank you for confirming that. I thought that's what I should do.
