hi all am new on here ,ive been given a mini estate

its been in a garage since 1988 is brown and called chocolate cake by previous owner

the pictures were all taken on its fist day outside since

initial look round shows it needs a new rear subframe and outer sills and the engine is seized

any advice on how to start would be welcome ,, like is subframe a diy job,, i cant figure why the floor is so good when the subframe is like a tea bag

ive put some oil in through plugs now need a 33mm? socket to go on end of crank?

im so excited i may get carried away before i know what im doing

Hi and welcome to TMF.

Subframes do rot especially the rears and yes its a one man job but if its been sitting around then you may find things like the subframe to heelboard bolts are seized. Lots of penetrating fluid will be your friend here.

33 mm socket can be bought at halfords.

Doesn't look bad for all that time sat doing nothing. Make sure you go onto the clubman estate register.
