Type Of Weld At Inner Sill And Door Step?
#1

Just a question though on what type of weld is best along the top of the inner sill and door step, where the door seal sits?
Was tempted to drill out and lug weld, but that would let water in, but a weld all the along the top just doesn't seem right, the same goes with the outer sill lip and door step..
Suggestions please, also what is the best coating now on the floor pan/ sill/flitch.. I have a can is Schultz, but not sure what finish that gives, is this best just for the outside panels.

spot weld or plug weld if you dont have a spot welder. (for door step joining lips)

The door step is plug welded/spotwelded together.

you've got to love spot welders for mini panels...weld you sill on sir? certainly that will take about five minutes

I use a spot welder; its much quicker than drilling holes, plug weld and grinding.

I tend to seam weld, for me its a quicker way of doing it. I seam the sill to door step and the inner sill. For neatness I plug weld the lower edge of the sill.

had a machine mart one, handy but you get a bit frustrated sometimes when they don't reach where you want!! ended up getting a tecna camel on ebay nice and cheap, single sided gun is so handy.

Looking at getting some extra arms in the near future to get in the less accessible areas. I'll see how i get on with it.
