I bought a 1987 mini with a A+ engine however the guy i bought it off had left it out in the weather with no bonnet! So i have linked all the wires etc needed to turn the engine over and its really slow i want to say its the starter motor but i fear water may have got into the carbs and got into the block and rusted it. Can anyone shed any light on wether this slow turn could be the starter motor or wether the pistons may have seized to the block??????

well you need to take off carb and manifold and check if water has got past the carb if it has then you will need to take head off and check the bores.........if head is clear and you've cleaned carb out and you want to try and start engine DON'T remove large banjo bolt off at top of oil filter pipe on block  take out plugs disconect coil and pour 20/50 oil down and then turn engine over just a few turns poru more oil down and again turn over engine do this untill engine if freeier then drain old oil and top up with new refit banjo plugs and carb and coil and try and start engine.....It may smoke at first.......but it should have lubericated all the dry bearings in the engine.......good luck :proud:
