Hi,

I'm about to paint my engine without taking it out. What suggestions, tips or warnings could you give me?

Thanks!

Degreasing a start but won't entirely rid you of all the accumulated crud.... grab a handful if old toothbrushes and get scrubbing! As above std hammerite does the job nicely.... in black at least....

To be fair, I'd just take the engine out with a hoist, degrease and paint it on the bench. You can then paint the engine bay while its out too  :proud:

Taking out the blocks easy and takes little time compared with faffing around with it in the bay.

Up to you of course and you may not want to but just a suggestion

I would suggest pulling the engine, im not a fan of half assing a job, you would agree when you see the final results.
