Right, nearing the end of my engine build now and looking at ignition coils. I've fitted an electronic CSI distributor and the instructions say that it's ideal to use a 3ohm 'sports' ignition coil for optimum performance, but that it HAS to be above 2.5ohms so that it does not cause problems with the dizzy. This is fine but i believe that my car at the moment is running a ballast coil and i don't think they do ballast coils with resistance that high? Has anyone used or got a CSI dizzy and if so what coil do you have?

cheers, Ben.

Well sports coils are usually around 3.5 ohms and are 12v feed.

Just rewire the +ve feed and swap the coil for a sports one.
