Hi there can anyone tell me excuse my ignorance if you can fit a 1275 or 1000 crank into an 1100 engine. It was an A40 Farina engine originally so trying to convert it to fit a mini. The original crank shaft is to short for a mini flywheel and clutch.

Can anyone help?

You'll need a 1098 crank. The 3 are all different strokes (they move the pistons up the bore by different amounts).

Technically there's no difference between a 998 engine and a 1098 engine other than the crank and the pistons so yes you can fit a 998 crank into an engine which was once an 1100.... and vice versa an 1100 crank into what was once a 998 engine. However, was not an A40 Block an inline block so there may be other changes you need to make to caps, engine etc to fit a mini crank.

Hi

it is to much work

the rear main is different

and there is no oil seal in the A40 block

it uses a scroll instead

also you will have problems with the oil pick up

as there is no place for the o ring that fits

on the mini gearbox
