all 1275s  from 1971 had solid wall blocks ( no tappet chest covers)........but if your asking if yours is from a clubman GT from early 70s to 1980 then with out you stripping it down and checking crank and cam then no..... :proud:

hi

im thinking about buying an engine advertised as a 1275gt however it has no engine number. I have heard that sometimes they are removed during a rebore?

i have pictures of most of the engine if that will help and also the Crankshaft number is 12g1505

thanks

12G1505 is the forging no applied before machining, only way to tell is by inspection and checking the dimensions it has been machined to as Mk1 said. Have a look at this for a guide

There is nothing very special about the internals of a 1275GT engine. Essentially it is the same unit as fitted to the basic Austin & Morris 1300 of the time.

+1 for above. I think the only difference was the 1275GT used slightly different ratios in the gearbox, less of a gap between 3rd and top.
