Hi all.

I have recently purchased a weber 45 DCOE 9 from Ebay for a good price.

All being well once picked up, I shall be looking to set this up for my mini.

The mini is for fun weekends only, not a daily drive, and I am after a little more top end power.

The spec is 1330 with omega pistons, 276 cam, 1.5 roller tips, lightened flywheel, stage 4 head, recon box with hardened diff pin, centre main strap, centre oil pick up, and a full Maniflow 1 7/5 exhaust.

I am at the very start of doing some homework on these carbs so need some 'go to' info sites.

Firstly the no:9 type.  I have read the 13 was the one to have, something about flow down drillings, being better for Siamese ports.

So will this cause an issue or not.

I will need a jetting/set up chart to give me a good starting point for the above spec.

Who are the best guys to go to for R/R sessions when it comes to Webers. (I live in the south)

Also I only have the carb itself, so will be looking for inlet/linkages etc, preferably good used. Is there is a member on TMF

who is the weber 'guru' and has lots of parts, advice etc, who would that be?

Thanks in advance.

I have a very similar spec engine to yours but with a slightly higher lift cam, larger bores and a comp ratio of around 11.5:1

My engine builder spec'd the 45DCOE 9 to go with my engine, less emissions friendly but better for performance where his comments, But other than that I dont know the difference.

So I would say, as long as you have it re jetted and set up for your engine you have the correct carb.

Also, for help setting it up, I would go to Brett Sims Motorsport in New Milton or Slark

The 9 is for 1 port per cylinder and used by BMC on Healey 3000s. The 13 was for siamised ports on a MGB and then a mini. As pointed out, the only difference is the tickover drillings. Longman used to use both as sets on split Webers if that is how they came from the customer.
