Ive seen a couple of cars running discs and wearing cooper reverse rims but the wheel sticks out an inch?

Are reverse rims all 4.5" wide?  Is that there was the option of more off set for drum brake cars?

I ran reverse rims on mine but id has them banded aswell to 6.5" IIRC the offset is different.

I'm pretty sure that CooperS rims are a similar design and have the correct offset without the inch stick out, the originals were 3.5" but sure you can get 4.5" aswel

Some reverse rims were 5J, the originals (i.e those with round vent holes) were mostly 4.5J, they were designed as an option wheel for the Cooper running the 7 inch disc, not the S with the wider track and 7.5 inch discs, so they should fit a drum braked car with no arch extensions needed, you may find with a 165 tyre that you can see the tyre looking vertically down the body right at the back edge on the rear and at the front edge on the front due to the way the body curves in at those points

If you ran them on a drum brakes (or 7" cooper braked) mini they look like this

You can get the S rims in 3.5 and 4.5" to be able to run on S brakes without arches which you can buy new
