Got my mg metro conversion running just now. Engine sounds sweet but I noticed that the interior heater was not getting warm. I ran the engine for 10 minutes. Do I need to bleed the cooling system or will the aor locks come out when the thermostat opens.

on my mini i just took the rad cap of turn heater on full and then get the engine warm and rev slightley and you will hopefully feel the warm air coming threw once that happens you might have to topup your rad with abit more water or anti freeze and then let it get nice and hot put the cap on. if this does not do it then i usually take the pipe of that goes back into the engine after its been threw the heater and then let it run threw once water coming out with a nice flow then reattach and try that way. if not then thermostat or heater valve not opening. good luck! cheers tom

I put in a new temp gauge the other day and it drained all the water under the thermostat. I filled up the radiator and started the car, but it wouldn't get any fluid through the system. The thermostat had no water under it and it wouldn't open. I ended up loosening the thermostat bolts and bleeding the air out of the thermostat housing

pulling the heater valve out closes it of and let cold air come in pushing it in let warm air circulate does on mine anyway lol
