Hi - I bought my first Mini - Mini One Convertible - this summer. Got a nice personal reg too and love zipping about town in it.

But, I'm a girl, don't know much about cars, don't know any fellas who know anything about cars and think I've made a mistake buying this car.   It has passed it's MOT last week but there's a few things on the 'recommended' list which need doing - Exhaust system corroded/Wet around PAS reservoir/engine covers fitted obscuring components in engine bay/slight movement in offside macpherson strutt - and I think they might be going to cost me money.  Would appreciate any advice from others.   I have already had to have 2 new tyres.

Thanks

Annieanne

Hello and welcome to TMF :-)    It's always good to have another girl!

This forum is mainly aimed at classic Minis. However, there are many members on here who have both old and new (or know about them) and I'm sure one of them will come along to offer advice in due course.  There are a number of new MINI forums which are good, the ones I use are http://www.totalmini.com/forum/ and http://www.surreynewmini.co.uk/ (you don't need to be in Surrey to be a member!)

Please post a pic of your MINI - I'd love to see it :-)

Oh hi Tanya.  Didn't realise about the classic bit but maybe someone will reply anyway.   I only have a pic of the car with me in it and don't really want to post that one!

It's black, 2008, hasn't got any fancy additions to it but is a great wee car and I just love it.  My very first car, way back when, was a mini (is that what's meant by classic?).  It was a P reg and not half as comfortable as the one I have now but I loved it.  Mind you, I never was a car person until I got this car and I'm definitely keeping it.   I'll try those other forums, thanks.

Don't worry at all about the old or classic (Mini) and new (MINI) bit, you're very welcome regardless :-)  It's just for technical help, you might get a quicker and more comprehensive reply on a MINI forum.  However, like I said, there are a fair few on here who are very knowledgeable and like to try and help.

It's fine to have it without fancy additions, personally I like standard, unfussy cars, but I know lots of owners really enjoy personalising their Minis and MINIs.

Please post a pic of your MINI when you have one that you're happy to put on the forum :-)  In the meantime, hopefully one of the knowledge members will find this post and help out :-)

Hello, since you are in Edinburgh joining http://www.scottishm...forum/forum.php could be a good idea. Old and new minis welcome and plenty of free advice. Hope that helps.
