The Professionals scène with Mini ice cream pick-up

"This rare version of the Austin Mini pick-up ice cream variant was seen in an episode of The Professionals series (1977-1983)"

and a Minivan in the background!

The Professionals star Lewis Collins died aged 67, his agent said. The actor, who played Bodie in the crime drama alongside co-star Martin Shaw, died in Los Angeles yesterday after a five-year struggle with cancer.

Ah, Bodie and Doyle, the inspiration for my first car - Ford Capri - tried the bonnet slide thing and ended up on my backside on the road!!

Bowl up in the Capri (no seat belts), long leather coat (BIG collars), dolly bird in the back and 60p for three cones (of proper ice cream -

none of your "Mr Whippy" nonsense in the 70s).

Those were the days...

I was about 10 when it hit our screens - when you see this vid it looks like a hundred years ago.

See the Renault 16 in the background - my Dad had one as a company car and it had electric windows - it was

such a novelty that all the kids in my street came to play with them and they broke (it's a Renault) on the first day.
