Hi just putting the final order in at mini spares for my new engine and i just wanted to check which dizzy i need? The engine is a 1990 998cc that when i got it originally it had the 59D type dizzy with the forked clamp securing it (this one http://www.minispare...ck to catalogue )

So i found this dizzy http://www.minispare...ic/ADU4049.aspx on mini spares which looks identical however in the description it says that i should use this one http://www.minispare...ic/ADU5789.aspx instead for unleaded fuel. The only thing that throw me was the way the second on is secured  in the picture with that bracket and it looks like the way it is machined my version of the clamp wont fit (or will it?) so just a bit unsure which one i need.

I believe the picture for the second distributor is incorrect.   The text for the listing says it is an A+ distributor for use with later model year cars.  The picture is for the original A-series engine, not A+.

I would call and ask Mini Spares to confirm this before placing an order and explain the picture error.  I suspect they are unaware of the conflict between the picture and text.

Ok so i rang mini spares up and the helpful guy on the phone came to the same conclusion that the photo must be the wrong one, so i bought the second one ( http://www.minispare...ic/ADU5789.aspx ). unfortunately it is the same as the photo so now i'm wondering if the clamps are interchangeable between engine blocks? (ie the holes will line up) this way i can just get a new clamp and not fuss around sending things back (even though i know mini spares will be fine with it)

so just to clarify my rambeling will the hole used for this clamp ( http://www.minispare...|Back to search ) match up with the hole for this clamp ( http://www.minispare...ck to catalogue ) Pic ( https://holden.co.uk...stributor Clamp )

Can i just say this is in no way a dig at mini spares, i cant praise them enough for the excellent survive they provide.

A and A plus dizzys aren't interchangeable, been a while since I've seen the 2 together but I seem to recall the drive end is a different size and also theres a difference in the length of the section that goes in the block

Ok thanks, I've just tried my a + Dizzy drive with it and it fits perfect. so now I'm thinking this dizzy has A+ internals in a A body? if that's even possible. I've been trying to find one of theses clamps in my big bucket of brackets but cant find one
