I have sealed beam headlights fitted at the moment but due to the availability of them I am looking at getting some h4 lamps. The problem I'm having is finding a set with the exact same look and curvature of the sealed beam. Reason for this is I will be fitting the lucas beam converters over the lamps and they need to fit perfectly and not be under strain! Like on my last mini with different lamps! Any ideas???

I think the wipac ones are the same. I can't tell any different to the sealed beams.

Yes wipac are one which have the outward convex shape near to the sealed beam, maybe others but none spring to mind

I think Cibie headlights with H4 bulbs have the same curvature as sealed beams

I've just fitted a set of Lucas 700 i had laying in the garage.

They're more 'curved' and, despite the lower wattage of the bulb (halogen R2 bulbs are about 40-55 iirc) they are a lot better than wipacs with H4s.

Wipac or Autopal halogen headlights are similar to Lucas.

Cibie are the best, but they are concave lenses. Are the beam converters for driving on the Continent? If so the Cibies are marked as to where the black tape should be fitted. Personally I never bother!
