Mini Rio Exhaust Pipe Work Alignment

Best Answer cambiker71 , 08 December 2013 - 09:20 PM

Further forward you'll find a joint where the rear section of the exhaust meets the front or cat, this will need to be loosened off so that you can twist the exhaust round (and at the same time upwards) then replace both exhaust mounting rubbers to hang it in the right place.

You'll need two of these....

Hi. I'm new to the forum so apologies if this is the wrong place to post this - I have an 1993 Mini Rio 1.3, which has since had a replacement engine and some other work (I can't swear to the exhaust pipe work ever being changed or not) but I wanted to ask if anyone has any advice please for adjusting the exhaust pipe work. It hangs very low, only attached by a rubber hanger by the tail pipe, a photo should be attached showing it. There are brackets further along, another photo attached, but I can't see anything standard holding those together and the pipe looks convincingly off centre. There doesn't seem to be much flexibility in terms of where the tail pipe is held on to raise or move it very much more centrally so I wondered if anyone had any advice on how to best align, secure and mainly raise that pipe work? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

On the second photo there should be another rubber hanger between the car and the exhaust. That's all that holds it on though as standard

Thank you both for that, and the link. I will give it a go.
