Formula One is so corrupt, it's why I almost solely follow sports cars these days.

Double points for the final race? Not sure about that. And financial restraints? Surely that will encourage underhand tactics, cover ups and the old smoke screens?
Double points, that would avoid situations like this year with one guy winning it all, but would mean that it could leave people cheated if they end up coming through after doing will in the last race,
and there are already financial restraints, people like Red Bull use a second company to develop the cars which means they dont have the financial limits of it so it would just mean more people bypassing it, cant see it being much of an issue as cover ups and underhand tactics are interesting to watch

Double points for the last race made me think ...
Would be interesting to have a similar thing to the WRC final power stage. Extra points and a shorter, more competitive race for the final round.

Can anyone tell me what was wrong with the old points system? i.e. 10 points for a win, 8 for second.
What F1 needs is to get rid of P2 and P3. Brazil this year was more entertaining than the previous races, partly due to the fact that nobody was prepared because of the wet practice. This allowed drivers like Button to actually do well.
Bring back refuelling - if Bernie really cared about this 'green' *******, surely it would make sense not to haul a full race distance worth of fuel around the track, as this goes against the point of a light, nimble car. Again, this would add a bit more excitement to the strategy.
Which leads me onto the final point. I do like what the Pirellis have brought to the table, however they are terrible. The drivers cannot push, and it is all about saving tyres at the moment. Why not just limit the fuel load or something to encourage more pit stops? Maybe with some decent tyres beneath them, the drivers would actually be allowed to push and maybe even MODULATE THE THROTTLE.

What a load of crap. Double points for the last race is one of the worst ideas in a long time. Why not give points for pole, fastest lap, most laps led, as per NASCAR. In fact what is the point of F1, all the cars have to have the same type of power plant and engine managment systems, the tyres are deliberately made not to work for a full race. As for the cost cap, not much thought was put into capping costs when teh new power plants were thought up, and how they can justify that KERS is helping F1 go green, then why do some tyres last only 40 miles before they are useless.
F1 is not the pinical of motor sport, it is just becoming more and more a contrived one make series, with things imposed to try and create some excitement.
There are also mutterings of have 2 compolsory pit stops. Why not just have three shorter races with no pit stops, tyres that will last a full race distance, and agregate scoring to decide who wins the round.
By the way, would double points in Brazil have made a differance the ths years championship? No it would not as Vettle and Red Bull had it sown up long before then. They could always go back to the system they had in the late '70s and eary '80s when a drivers best 12 (or was it 10) rounds scored.

I say, let the teams do what they want. Turbo charged 4 cylinders with 1500+BHP etc.
Or why not introduce two engine types, with a specific weight limit for each. V10s and what not.
